K1000 makes that all but impossible if you make it a point to number what should be page one as page 1. Then check every 100 pages until you find a mismatch. Go back to find out what happened. If the pages are picture pages, in a nonfiction book, they should be glossy and you can skip them until you finish the book and then add them. Fiction should be even easier.

Don't feel bad about missing the pages, Jamie. I remember from my book-scanning days, it's very easy to do, or to duplicate. I wrote down what page I was on and I still missed some occasionally or did some pages twice. Either I'd get interested in reading the book as I was scanning pages or I zoned out. I wouldn't have found out if I hadn't done a quick page check. Even now when I validate and read, and number the pages and put in page breaks for those books that don't have them, when I do a page number check I sometimes found that I got so involved in reading I forgot to make the page break, or I numbered two pages the same. None of us is perfect. G.Cindy --- "Jamie Yates, CPhT" <jamieyates@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:I think if I scan something with a missing page, it's my job to get that missing page. The scanning and validating process is kind of like the process in a pharmacy. One person scans the book, sends it up to be checked. The person checking can either say ok it's good or kick it back to the scanner. Just like in a pharmacy, one person prepares the medicine, and sends it up to the pharmacist to check. If it's correct, it goes out the door. If it isn't, it gets kicked back to the tech to be done right. I am working on getting Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher back for the missing two pages. I feel bad about missing them. The book wasn't on the shelf at the library today though, so I just put a hold on it. It shows it is in the library, just they don't know where right now. And since I just took it back yesterday, I suspect it's on a shelving cart somewhere.
