Barbara,

A book doesn't need LC validation if the copyright
info is in the book itself. Usually the problem is
that the submitter put the wrong thing in the
copyright name or date space. Sometimes they assume
the copyuright holder is the author when it is the
publisher and vice versa. Often, I think, some
validators don't check what's on the form vis-a-vis
what's in the book. They assume the submitter put the
correct informationand being validating with the main
content of the book rather than the front pages.

To be safe, after you've made sure the info on the
form is correct (I've had several books where it has
not been correct), if you think something might be
considered suspicious, like the publisher being the
copyright holder, use the Comments section to inform
Gustavo that in the book the publisher is listed as
copyright holder. To be doubly safe, you can paste a
copy of the copyright page onto the comments section.
