1.  Go to the volunteer home page.
2.  There is a link called "my checked out books.  Enter on it, or click it.
3.  After a lot of links and headings, you will find a list of your books with 
options of what you can do, including the renew option.  This does appear in a 
timely manner.  Enter on that link, or click it, or whatever, and you will see 
that your expiration date changes right then.
