I agree with Lisa. In fact, I have a couple of books in the catalog with BSO in front of the title because that was the way I had it in the file name before I knew bbetter. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lisa Belville" <lisab12@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi, Cindy.Well, that's how I've always done it. <smiles> I leave the BSO in the title field of the upload form to let the admin person know the title is a replacement for an existing one. If the BSO is kept in the file name, then it will be in the title of the book when it's downloaded, and I don't think that's quite legal, not to mention that it's confusing for people not familiar with the BSO designation. But then, this is just my way of doing it, I'm sure there are others who have validated plenty of BSO submissions who may do things differently. I figure "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." <grins> So, unless there's an official policy, I'm going to keep doing it this way.Lisa----- Original Message ----- From: "Grandma Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx>To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2007 5:53 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: BSO filesThanks for the info. If I understand what you're saying, it's the reverse of what I was thinking--and since I'm soon to start working on a BSO, I'd better get it straight. So I leave BSO as part of the title in the title space but omit it in the File to Upload space when I upload the book, rather than the other way around? It's the File to Upload title that's important and goes with the book into the collection and not the title in the title space? Thanks for helping me to get it straight. Hmm, I've validated quite a few BSO copies, and what I do is remove the BSO from the RTF file, but leave it in the title field of the upload form. this way the book uploaded to the server is without the BSO, but the administrator doing the approving can still tell it's a BSO copy. I haven't had any BSO books rejected or kicked back to step one, so I figured this method worked. Thanks for the heads up, though.
