Very much appreciated, thanks! This makes me feel much better. I was really
concerned that I may have miss-uploaded it:)!
Have a wonderful Friday!

Hi Christine, you'll get an update via email when Bookshare gets a chance to
actually look at the book you've submitted. It will say the book was approved,
or that it isn't quite ready for prime time. In the second case, there will be
instructions on what needs to be fixed, and the book will have been returned to
the check out queue with a hold on it either for you as the proofreader if it's
something the proofreader needs to fix, or with a hold for the scanner if it's
something the scanner needs to address.

When everything is caught up at Bookshare it usually takes a few days to get
the email on what's happened to your book. However, the queue has backed up for
a while, so right now it may take a couple of weeks before you'll hear anything.

You can always see where your book is in the approval queue by logging in to
Bookshare and going to this link:

  https://catalog.bookshare.org/bookQueueProcessing?type=waiting

I usually go to that link as soon as I've submitted a book to make sure it's
really there on the approval queue. The message that we get when we submit a
book is only a terse one-line sentence on the webpage where we submit the
books, and we don't get anything via email. Sometimes that page doesn't
refresh correctly so I don't even get the message that's supposed to show up on
the webpage at all.

Also, although it seems that the approval queue is backed up for months when
you look at it as there are books sitting there that were submitted for
approval months ago. It isn't. Those seem to be in a different category than
the usual books submitted by us volunteers.

  Hope that helps!

    Greetings Everyone!
I officially submitted my first proofed book a few days ago:) and just
have a quick question. How long typically is it before you receive your first
automated email (e.g., the emails that say things like, being reviewed by
staff...)? I just wanted to make sure I was not missing something as I have not
received any type of automated email at all and wanted to make sure this is
common and not likely to be something with my upload not going through....
    Happy volunteering!
