Hi Maria and welcome to the list. The three books you asked about are all awaiting validation in step 1.On one of them (I forget which one) you said that you validated it yourself. Sorry, but that's not allowed. When you scan a book you can advertise it here on this list and, most likely, someone of like interest will be happy to validate it for you.
Once again, welcome to the list, and happy scanning. If you have further questions, here's the place to ask.

Hello. I am Maria Georgakarakou and I am new to our list as you can see. I have been a Bookshare member for a couple of years but I just started scanning. So I have a lot of stupid questions. Maybe one of you can answer some of them.I scanned three books. One was on a txt file and I haven't received any note of rejection. Do we ever know if a book we scanned was rejected? Mr. Turner did tell me as soon as I sent it that as a text file it had no page markers. However I later saw the title among those waiting for aproval. Must i wait for a note or should I go ahead and scan the thing again and OCR it as an RTF? The title in question is Smyrna 1922.The other two books I scanned are RTF files and as I had more hopes as to their survival, I validated them myself. However, I have not heard about them in over a month. Does that mean they are dead? One is "The Viewer as Poet" and the other is "Single Mothers by Choice."I don't want to scan anything else before I am sure I am doing this right and the books will not be rejected. But I am new to this and I guess I am still learning...I am using ABBYY fine reader as an OCR program and I am very happy with it because it can read multiple languages in the same text and has no problem even with Latin.Thank you all very much for reading those questions. It is a pleasure being a Bookshare member and I always try to validate books about music as music is my field. All the best, Maria.----- Original Message ----- From: "Christina" <greensleeves1@xxxxxxxxx>To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, July 01, 2008 11:20 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Anyone Interested IN Scanning...?Hello, all. Would any of you be interested in scanning Slow Burn by Brenda Jackson and or Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night by Kresley Cole? The synopses are at the end of this message. If you are willing to scan them and can't get them from your library, I can by them and send them to you. If I do that, you're free to keep them or share them with someone else once you scan them. All I ask is that you keep the book until it's approved by Bookshare.I, of course, am willing to validate them. Thanks. Christina Slow Burn (Madaris Family Series) by Brenda JacksonEverything in accountant Skye Barclay's life is fitting smoothly into place until she makes the startling discovery that she was adopted. Slade is by far the most compelling man Skye has ever met, but she isn't ready to get involved so soon after Wayne's rejection. not even when Slade offers her a job so she can stay in town and get to know her brother better.Slade is a shrewd businessman, but hiring Skye is one of the riskiest moves he's ever made. Soon their mutual attraction explodes into a steamy summer affair. When Wayne shows up in town, determined to win Skye back, Slade sets out to prove that he and Skye are meant to be together. Because a Madaris man never walks away from a challenge-especially when true love is on the line.Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark Series number 3) byKresley ColeThis one sounds fun and silly but I read the second book in the series and Ithoroughly enjoyed it.
