Thanks Lori, and everyone else who responded. (I won’t try to mention all your
names because I’ll probably forget someone and I don’t want them to feel
slighted.)
This is good news.
Deborah and Larry, hope VFO fixes the issue with your versions of Word.
I just installed JAWS 2018 here after holding onto Window Eyes as long as I
could. It’s definitely faster than Window Eyes. Whenever I move around in
folders and files, it almost speaks before I’ve finished depressing the key,
whereas Window Eyes has a noticeable delay. Same with reading emails and going
through web pages. Definitely a more snappy response time for speaking.
I’m not getting rid of it though. I’m getting reacquainted with JAWS after an
eleven year absence, so I’ll still be loading Window Eyes pretty regularly for
a while yet.

No problem with JAWS 2018 and Word 2010.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Anyone Having Problems with JAWS 2018 and Pagebreaks
in MS Word?
Hey Folks,
I’m hoping to upgrade Lissi’s computer to JAWS 2018, but she said that she
thought she had heard on this list that there was some problem with JAWS 2018
and the speaking of pagebreaks in MS Word. Lissi is using Word 2010, so if
anyone knows about JAWS 2018 and that version in particular, that would be
great.
But in general, is anyone using JAWS 2018 and any version of MS Word having
problems of that sort?
Thanks much.
Evan
