[bksvol-discuss] Re: An example of how one needs to be careful when "replacing all" and the importance of reading

I recently replaced die with the. I must have been tired because I never do that. Now I had to go back and change it. I only noticed because I read the book.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] An example of how one needs to be careful when "replacing all" and the importance of reading

Argh. I thought I'd learned from mistakes I'd made in the past that sometimes one needs to replace a word, e.g., die with the, one by one rather than to "replace all." But the other day I replace a t t a c h e with attaché globally. Tonight as I was reading I discovered that now the past tense of attach had the acute e and was now attachéd. Argh. smile
