Roger, you are an adult who, if I'm correct, doesn't have children you want to protect from certain harsh realities of life or to get the wrong idea about what isn't permissable, e.g., rape--if it's in a book it must be o.k. to do), and and you are not one to whom what some people call blasphemy offends. But as bookshare volunteers we should be sensitive and respectful of others' concerns. When my children were young we didn't allow them to watch All in the Family because they wrere too young to understand that the program was satirical and decrying, not okaying, Archie's bigoted attitude. also, my husband wouldn't allow them as tweenies to go to see Grease because he thought it conveyed the idea that conformity was necessary to be popular (I thought they had more sense than to be so convinced, but then ...
