I found out that you can read the rescanned images with your screen reader if you adjust the screen reader. I adjusted something in Zoom Text and it worked. The read-out-loud feature in the Acrobat Version is not that good. I think using the screen reader when reading PDF files is better. Kurzweil also, in version 11, allows people to read PDF files but, of course, you have to import the PDF files into Kurzweil which is extra work. I think through work there are some places they are getting the professional version for around $100 too. Hmmm something to keep in mind for the future. Did you know that the Professional version has a special recognition feature that will take unrecognizable files which a screen reader like Zoom Text cannot read and rescan them with an OCR program so that the Adobe program can recognize the images? The screen reader still cannot recognize the images but the Adobe program can read it out loud with its read out loud feature. This recognition feature is not built into the free Read-Only program, as far as I know. The Professional version is extremely expensive (over $400) but the Professional version for students only costs, I have been told, about $100. Amazing! Barbara Barbara
