It is a different kind of speech, and you have to accept that.

Elliquence is good, but for reading books I prefer my readers to be more
"human". The difference between the ATT naturals and Eliquence, is
Eliquence is synthesized, and ATT Naturals are spoken recordings that are
put together in a database.

Personally each is good, and they sure as heck beat the Echo, that I used
with my Apple IGS II, which I played with when I was younger growing up.

I Prefer the guys voices on the ATT naturals, I prefer Ray over the other
man, mike is annoying. And I vary rarely if never use Mel. I also have Rich
and find him useful for some things.

I use Crystal and Clare to do the system voices.

Again it is each is to their own.

And I prefer male voices in general, using Reed in Eliquence, and Paul from
Neospeech, and the guy who reads for Keysoft gold.

So there are those of you who prefer the ATT natural voices to
eloquence? I don't know if it just takes getting used to or what, but
I got them and can hardly listen to them for long without getting a
headache. It just seems too choppy the way that words are put
together, and I had to slow it down to about a third of what I read at
with Eloquence. I thought Shelley that you said that Neospeech is not
as good of quality, but on the web site I thought they sounded better.
Does K1000 come with the 8 megahertz maybe instead of the sixteen?

I'll give it time, but for now I prefer my synthetic speech. I have
Mike, Crystal and Lauren so far, and am getting Audrey. I like Justin
for male British Reading so will stick with that, but at least on the
website Audrey sounds better for the Female.
