Hi all, In our talks about updating the website and the manual, it has occurred to me that there is a lack of information for potential volunteers interested in scanning but with no knowledge of AT software or technology. Has anyone had any experience with this? I know that many scanners can have built-in OCR software, but that you can also use a scanner without the built-in software so long as there is OCR software (such as ABBYY fine reader) installed on your computer. Since this software is pricy for someone who just wants to scan books but would not otherwise use such software, I am very curious if anyone has encountered these kinds of questions before or had any related personal experiences.
