I'm not sure this was an E-book though. I don't think it would 
actually be classified as one.

I checked with Jim Fruchterman. Scans from e-books are not legally 
allowed
at this time, but Jim is working on a policy to expand that legality. 
So we
are likely to see that change within the coming year. Of course, we 
will let
you know and it to the Volunteer manual if/when it does.
