Hi, All.
I just started volunteering a couple of days ago and I've got a
few questions about the book validation process.
I've just downloaded my first book to validate, unzipped it, looked it over
and verified
it isn't on Bookshare already.
I've downloaded and read quite a few books from Bookshare over the past
couple of years, and this one looks pretty good to me from a reader's
perspective.
There are very few scanning errors, except for a few instances where proper
names were not correctly recognized. If I'm not mistaken, I think it is
Okay for me to go through the text and correct these mistakes?
Also, I'm wondering about the pagination and the removal of recurring text.
There doesn't seem to be any recurring text on each page of this book and
the page numbering seems Okay to me. Is there something more I should be
doing regarding this?
Otherwise, I think I'm ready to upload the book to the web site. If there's
something wrong with it that needs correcting, will someone notify me about
it?
Thanks in advance for the information. I'm looking forward to validating
more books and hopefully I'll have my scanner hooked up soon so I'll be able
to actually scan and submit books. I really enjoy Bookshare and I'm glad to
be able to help make the book collection grow.
