still not allowed any food. Been dreaming about it here.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] A Bookshare Treasure Hunt

Hi everyone. Summer is coming, and that's a great time for reading
new books. I'd like to invite each of you to join me on a treasure
hunt of sorts. Yesterday I had a look at the Bookshare list of books
in process and found something really cool. Unlike the step 1 page,
this page shows books awaiting approval with their quality
rating. From there I was able to find scads of books in excellent
condition. I found 3 books in nearly perfect condition that had been
sitting on step 1 for a few months. I had assumed that since they
were sitting there and had been taken and released by other people
that they would have serious problems needing attention. When I
opened them, I was surprised to find that they had been cleaned up
including having headers and page numbers in order. I've spent so
much time trying to rehab and repair poorly scanned books while these
gems were just waiting to be found. So now I'm on a treasure hunt to
find more books like this or ones that need only a little work. I
believe these books are treasure because the submitter has worked to
make a book especially nice for our members. Let's make this summer
a time for good books, good friends, and freshly-made lemonade or
iced tea. (grin) Happy reading.
