Former California Governor Gray Davis will participate with Stanford
economists in a seminar for California journalists, Outsourcing Jobs
Overseas: Reporting the Impact on Your Community.=20

The daylong seminar will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 13th, at the
Landau Economics Building on the Stanford campus. Subjects include
global outsourcing and job loss; the effects of outsourcing on
California and its economy; an industry view of outsourcing; and a
presentation on the issue of trade and outsourcing. The seminar is
presented by FACS, the Foundation for American Communications, and
SIEPR, the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, with a grant
from the Koret Foundation.

Joining Governor Davis on the seminar faculty are Ed Lazear, Professor,
Stanford Graduate School of Business and senior fellow, Hoover
Institution; John McMillan, Professor of Economics and co-director of
the Center for Global Business and the Economy; Carl Guardino, President
and CEO, Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group and David Brady, senior
fellow and associate director for research at the Hoover Institution.
