"The backlash against the outsourcing of software and back-office services 
to India appears to have died down, executives here said Tuesday as a 
bellweather company posted better-than-expected earnings, mostly on 
improved business from the United States.

"...Infosys Technologies said on Tuesday that its quarterly profit had 
increased 39.2 percent ..

"Net profit rose to $84.3 million in the April to June period .... while 
revenue wad $33.04 million, a rise of almost 39 percent

" 'The backlash against outsourcing has abated, customer spending is on the 
rise ...' said N.M Nilekani, chief executive of Infosys."
