A good day in Hart County yesterday stirred up 76 species, including 4 opsreys and a peregrine. We had our first-ever fall cormorants (6) at Nolin Lake. Also 64 bluebirds, which is always encouraging, along with a nice mixture of warblers, one great egret and one shrike. One lousy grackle for the day. A local landowner and hunter reported seeing 500 wood ducks come off a very large pond early in the day. We saw many flying between flooded trees in the same region. It was a great day to be out.
