The most "tell tail" observation for me today was the dark tail feathers as it flew from the boat ramp. Sibley's pic of Darker 2nd winter Thayers's Gull p. 218 depicts this. Ben Yandell was there and took a good picture that shows this dark tail. So where does this put us? I don't know, but at least our minds and bodies were active today at the dams in W.
