I believe in subterfuge...political style. I'm guessing that the U.S.F.W.S.
was ordered by the white house to give good ol' Mitch that award this week,
so that Lois couldn't play the environmental card on him (as if she would;
what a lousy campaign she's running!). I belong to LCV, and Mitch, along
with Bunning and all the congressmen, should constitute 8 of the "dirty
dozen" on LCV's scorecard. Mitch's record shows that environmental things
get his support, as long as profits for corporations aren't involved....then
it's a resounding "NO" from him. The new refuge was an easy, slick way for
him to show the state that he's "a conservationist." Pardon me while I gag!
The KY legislators are often no better than our congressmen and
senators. Please remember to join KY Conservation Committee and help
pursuade these office holders to vote FOR the environment.
