Yesterday, we saw three bald eagles soaring in the Canton area of Trigg County
while we were traveling on Hwy. 68 near the Cumberland River bridge to LBL. I
live in Oceanside, CA now but lived in Cadiz in 1977-79. It was very thrilling
to see these beautiful birds, especially three! It would have been unheard of
to see bald eagles back in 1977 so it is a tribute to those involved in
conservation efforts here.

We were on our way to Honker Bay at the time to see the gull. I am fairly sure
that I saw the the bird, it was near the mouth of the bay but the light was
fading and I didn’t have a scope. I saw plenty of Bonaparte’s gulls so
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t one of those that I saw. I hope to go back on
Friday afternoon and get a better look.

Is it possible to do much birding at the Ballard Co. WMA now? I would like to
see the snow geese.
