Henderson County is part of the Western Ky, Level 1 Drought conditions, as declared Sept 2nd.
Evansville airport, across the Ohio River from Henderson, is over 10 inches below average rain fall for the year.
Thus the reason for lack of shorebird habitat this late summer/fall season.
Water is being pumped into many areas of the Sloughs WMA which should improve some habitat for KOS coming weekend outings. But I know of no real shorebird habitat remaining in western Henderson Co.
