Saturday, 9/22

Falls of the Ohio area (morning)
* Am golden-plover on main fossil beds and then at Wave Rock
* juv. sanderling same locations
* Am. white pelican on the river across the wall from the George Rogers
Clark cabin (Now I believe Matt's report of a few days ago.)
* Also: semipalmated plover, Caspian tern.

Mayfair basin had nothing unusual: a few lesser yellowlegs, green herons,
blue-winged teal.

Sinclair / Paradise ash basin afternoon
* 5 least sandpipers were the only shorebirds besides killdeer
* Miss. kite, adult bald eagle, and 200+ turkey vultures soaring and
streaming in the area.
* 8-10 soras calling along side road with bridge and cattails just after
turn toward steamplant from main road. Suspect there were many more in the
marsh.

Sunday, 9/23

* Ky. Dam marina roof had 300-400 gulls, almost all ring-billed, with a few
herrings mixed in.
* 2 buff-breasted sandpipers were the only birds of note at Jonathan Creek.
Maybe 200-300 least sandpipers scattered all over the extensive mudflats,
along with a few pectoral and least sandpipers.
* 5 eastern kingbirds in a dead tree along Rockport-Paradise Road.
