Yesterday, around 1300, I observed a kettle of about 30 vultures about a mile or so east of the Kentucky River bridge on the BlueGrass Parkway. The half-dozen or so I got decent looks at were turkeys, but there were a couple of different silhouettes that I didn't get a decent look at. There are certain disadvantages to birding at 75mph. This evening around dusk I was walking one of my hounds and had a flight of 25 or so Am. robins come over heading SW. I used to see large flights of them at dusk in Baton Rouge this time of year, several hundred at a time.
