First time to bird Shippingport Island.  Easy access to Shippingport Island from 22nd Street Exit .  As soon as you cross over the new bridge check the weedy banks on the right/east side of the road.  There were lots of sparrows feeding in this area.

There is a new parking lot for fisherman enabling them to access the river.  This should be a great area for warblers during migration.

Birds of interest:

Double-crested Cormorant (75+ flying overhead)

White-crowned Sparrow (FOS)
Swamp Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Palm Warbler
Cedar Waxwings (many)

Bald Eagle (adult)
Cooper's Hawk
Kestrel

Observed (5) Eastern Phoebe feeding together along the edge of the woods, very active.
