We counted 47 species again this weekend, including FOS White-throated and
White-crowned Sparrows. We ended with six sparrow species. The Merlin
perched briefly on the dead oak snag across the road, this morning, which
makes three weekends in a row that we've counted two falcon species. I saw
it in the air later, being escorted by a tight flock of nervous starlings.
Our Warbler count was down, but I saw at least six Tennessee Warblers in one
tree this morning. They seemed to be everywhere again this weekend.
