In reviewing the photos taken yesterday, one shows a banded sand hill. Left leg has white over red and right leg has yellow. If anyone knows who can provide info on this crane, let me know. thanks, Jamie > thanks for all the info on the sandhills in Cecilia. > We had a great day. We arrived in the area around noon and there were > flocks flying EVERYWHERE! It was beautiful. As we continued to wander > the back roads as as it got later we began seeing small flocks along > Black Branch Rd, Bethleham Academy, 1357, 1375.... and the later it got > the larger the flocks. They are still congregating around the firehouse on 86, both sides of the roads. > We hoped to see a whooping crane as we had seen 2 in this area last year, but no luck on that one. > It was a beautiful day and we had a grand time! > thanks again to those who have been providing information. > ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
