Made a quick check of Mitchell Lake this afternoon before work. The lake level is up and little good habitat remains. All the birds were on the north end and are most easily viewed by walking in from the duck trap station. Highlights include: Great egret 3 Blue-w teal 40+ Green-w teal Mallards Killdeer 10 Semi plover 1 Least sandpiper 30 Pectoral sandpiper 2 Stilt sandpiper 1 Lesser yellowlegs 5 Greater yellowlegs 8 Also of note were at least 30 fish crows kettling up on a thermal above Mitchell until they were out of sight and hearing. They may not be back anytime soon. Enjoyed seeing a Rose-br grosbeak in the yard when I returned home. Scott Record Ragland KY
