04 November 2005: Today at lunch, I quickly stopped at Lake Herndon/Boy Scout Lake just north of Russellville. Only 2 Pied-billed Grebes were observed on this blustery day. In the early afternoon a flock of about 50 mixed sparrows contained at least 2 Chipping Sparrows at the Chandler's Elementary School Sewage/Wetland, northeast of Russellville and also in Logan County. Late this afternoon, 4 Eurasian Collared-Doves were observed at the grain storage facility just east of the square in Adairville (Logan County). To my knowledge, this is the first observation in Adairville. This observation adds one additional known location in the agricultural belt along the Tennessee border for this species. Others include Hopkinsville, Trenton, Elkton, Allensville, Daysville, Olmstead, Russellville, Rich Pond, Franklin, Gold City & Bowling Green. That concludes this report.
