The flowering dogwoods outside of my office in Morehead are loaded with berries this fall. The dogwood trees were alive with birds this morning. Robins, cardinals, brown-headed cowbirds, starlings, white-throated sparrows, and an unidentified sparrow were all in the same tree at the same time. Some waxwings were buzzing around too and I assume they were eating the berries as well. A co-worker noticed a wild turkey perched in one of the dogwood trees last week consuming berries. The turkeys are a daily site here at the office due to the beechnuts. Scott Freidhof Rowan County
