[birdky] RFI: Martin Nest loyalty

Does anyone know anything about the nest box loyalty of Purple Martins. I
have Martins for the 4th consecutive year. However, they only arrived
today. I have not maintained records, but I recall that each year just as I
am about to give up on the Martins, well after they have returned to many
houses, they finally arrive at mine. I am curious about whether these are
the same birds or not since they are always late.
Does anyone know if these latter arrivals winter in different location than
the earlier arrivals?
