Thought I'd share that I have often found obscure out-of-print books via search at Amazon.com. Here is link to "bird guide chester reed" and multiple options are shown - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/183-3253451-5669429?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=bird%20guide%20chester%20reed PS - the folks that reported hummingbird sightings would increase after lull in July/August was correct. I am plumb flush with hummers and can hardly keep four feeders refreshed and filled nowadays. Bird Guide, Land Birds East of the Rockies, by Chester A. Reed. New Revised Edition. HB, 238 pp. copyright 1951 by Doubleday & Company; copyright 1906, 1909 by Charles K. Reed. Here's an interesting link to the book and author: http://lostandfoundbooks.wordpress.com/2013/03/16/bird-watching-the-joy-of-the-pocket-field-guide/ I wonder how many out there have this birding book? The link says this was the first pocket field size bird guide. These posts on bird books I think are on subject for BirdKY, so I hope you enjoy them.
