Bonnie Avery and I spent a couple of great hours at Mammoth Cave this
morning. We had nothing unusual, but enjoyed a nice mix of migrants.
Yellow-throated vireos were still singing at several locations.

Janet and I swung by Nolin lake at Dog Creek this afternoon. We added

Great blue heron
Green heron
Osprey
Red-tailed hawk
Pine warbler
Chipping sparrows (many!)


We've been seeing small flocks (10 to 20 birds) of migrating nighthawks
every day for a week or so, with last batch on Tuesday, 9-20. Most seem to
be heading east.
