I refound the Little Blue Heron at the Cove Spring Park Wetland Trail in
Frankfort tonight at around 6:00. For anyone who wants to chase it for their
year or state list (or if you just want to go see it) you can feel free to ask
for some directions from me if you're unfamiliar with the location. It's about
a half mile walk back to the bridge near the wetland it's been hanging out in
all day. When I walked up to the wetland it flushed from the shore and perched
on a snag with a huge tadpole it had just caught. I put some photos on the
eBird checklist that aren't quite as good as Jamie's Horned Grebe that he
posted earlier, but they'll definitely do!! I also had my first Northern
Parula, Yellow-throated Warbler, Northern Rough-winged Swallows, and Barn
Swallows of the year on my list.
