I have not relocated this bird. Based on the location from the ebird report, I
was very skeptical it would still be in that area, but I started there and
canvased the neighborhood; the houses are extremely close together and the
yards are maybe 20’ across and fenced off with chain link fencing. Afterwards I
scanned the buildings on Hwy 31, and also checked any lamposts/lights in
parking lots. Not having any luck I birded Freeman and checked the middle
section which has been closed to the public and while there was no SNOW, I did
find two Merlins! Next I checked the Nature Park, all fields on Ring Road, the
airport, and the fields around the industrial park off of Black Branch Road.
Nothing...
I came home to take care of my sick hubby, might try again later.
