Ok..We have a bird at the "O" pond, here in Greenup co.. I haven't a clue what it is.. I have never seen one before.. I can't find it online..or in my books.. I can however, describe it.. it may be something common for you all..maybe a bird that got off course during all the storms. It seems to be staying there.. here goes if anyone can help me figure out what it is. I will do my best to describe it.. I have seen it 3 times now..and didn't have my camera with me. This bird is pretty big.. it's a water bird, it's basically black/dark.. has NO tail.. has "orange" legs and feet. It has a long neck with a long beak that curves up a bit. We keep seeing it fishing.. it does light in a tree.. so it's feet aren't webbed. That's about all I can say.. other than I just can't find it anywhere.. and like I said.. it's a first for this area..and I've lived here 37 yrs.. thanks everyone.. debi lucas greenup co. ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
