Woodcock Walk
Car pools will meet at 6:00 on Sunday, but it will bring us to Dave’s a little
early so plan on walking around his place admiring his efforts to make a
sanctuary for birds and butterflies.
If you only want to hear the birds you can come on your own.
Directions:
Take Winchester Road to Walnut Hill which is the second blinking light past Man
O’War. Turn right on Walnut Hill and drive 1.4 miles to Brier(google spelling)
Estates. Turn left. Dave’s house is 3809 Brier Estates. Dave’s cell number
is 533-5683 if you get lost.
Logistics of planning a woodcock walk!!
Dave scouted on Wednesday and reported hearing woodcock and an owl around dusk
or at 6:15. Since Daylight Savings begins Saturday, the optimal time would be
at 7:15. Since time marches on it could be ten minutes later than that on
Sunday. But the weather forecast is not great which could make dusk earlier or
even spoil our viewing. Hope for the best and bring an umbrella.
