I went out to Maine Chance Farm (Lexington) this morning, thinking it would be
sunny today and hoping that the snow would bring something interesting to the
roads. Instead of sunny I had a little freezing rain and not much up by the
roads. I did get 31 species including some good looks at Am Tree Sparrows,
Horned Lark a lone Harrier and Snow Goose, both on the wing. There were also
larger numbers of Red-winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles than I have been
seeing all winter. Then when I returned home I had an immature Red-tailed Hawk
fly off with a squirrel when I when I went out to refill the feeders.
