While out for a stroll I managed to catch a glance at a great horned owl on its
nest with an owlet poking it's head up to have a look around. The nest was
just off a main road which sees a good amount of foot and vehicle traffic. I
also saw northern rough winged swallows but no warblers.
My upcoming warbler sightings may be impacted by the fact the developers have
just stripped out over 15 acres of wooded land. With all the open fields on
this side of Lexington one would have expected stands of trees to be conserved.
I don't know if there is a policy but in Ireland they made it illegal to clear
during nesting season.
