We had four for the trip down to Peabody WMA to look for the Short-eared Owls.
We were joined by Preston Forsyth from Drakesboro who kind enough to guided us
around Peabody. We walked one of the valleys in the late afternoon hoping to
flush some of the owls and we were successful in flushing two short-eared's. We
also had a third fly in front of the car after dark on our way out. Other birds
of note were a couple of N. Harrier's and a couple of Cacking Geese in with the
Canada Geese along "Goose" Lake. We also saw a small flock (14) of Sandhills
fly over while we were on the Bluegrass Parkway between Versailles and E-town.
