Hi Jackie and Dillard,
Since I live nearby, I go to Jacobsen Park and the swamp coves at Lake Side
golf course fairly often for birding and have kept a list on the Cornell
School of Ornithology Bird web site. If you’re interested, I’d be glad to
send a summary of my sightings (perhaps about 10 birding trips to Jacobsen
Park over the last year).
Jackie, do you know if Jacobsen Park is within the Christmas bird count
area? There’s been a winter wren out there the last two years we could
include in the Christmas count.

Birds at lakeside golf course
Dillard,
I've been keeping a list of birds I've seen on and around Reservoir 3 since
moving to our current residence on Bridgeport Dr.in 1987. That list
includes 140+ species. If they were here, there is a good chance they were
also at LSGC. In addition, there are several I've seen there that I have
not yet seen here due in part to the more extensive grassland habitat at
the
golf course. I can show my list to Mike Flynn, Wayne Davis and perhaps a
few others who have been at the golf course over the years to come up with
a
representative list. Any LSGC personnel who would like to join us on our
ASK outings, including the Christmas bird count on 12/19, would be most
welcome. They are also welcome to contact me.
