The Christmas Bird Count is fast approaching. It will be held Saturday December
19. Betty Maxon is again coordinating the effort for the Lexington count
circle. She still needs to find people to cover some of the areas. So, if your
are interested in participating this year, please contact her. She is also
looking for people who are willing to watch feeders and report results, so if
you, or you know of anyone who may want to help in this way, please get them in
touch with Betty so that we can include these sightings in our data.
In addition, Betty has not been able to contact everyone to confirm that they
will be covering their usual areas, so if everyone with an assigned area would
please contact Betty to confirm that they will or will not be able to cover
their area it will be much appreciated. This will allow her to find someone
else to cover areas in the event you cannot. I don't believe that everyone with
a previously assigned area is subscribed to this list serve. So, if you can
help get this information out to people who are not subscribed, or have contact
information for them, it would be much appreciated.
For those interested, there will be a breakfast meeting with Betty at the
Denny's on the corner of Nicholasville Rd and Southland Dr at 7:00 AM on the
morning of the count for any last minute assignments.
