Following a number of conversations with various groups and individuals it would seem timely and very appropriate for our next Health and Social Care Faith Forum to focus on the social isolation that people within our community experience. The Forum meeting will be an opportunity to look at the issues relating to Social Isolation in general and to hear how various faith groups and agencies are addressing such needs. The Forum will be the place to share, to listen and gain from each other's experience. A number of people have requested to speak about the work that they are currently involved in across our city: Jane Lodge of the Brighton and Hove NHS Clinical Commissioning Group Sally Polanski the CEO of Community Works which is an umbrella organisation which co-ordinates voluntary work across the city Tracey Maitland who is the project manager of The Fed - centre for independent living Annie Alexander of Brighton and Hove City Council Joanna Hill of the Trust for Developing Communities The hospital will also be represented. Helping Hands organised by the Jewish Community The Muslim Women's Group for Brighton and Hove. Plus a number of Christian community groups You would be very welcome to come along to hear about the work which is going on and/or present some work that you are undertaking Given the nature of talks I think that it would be a good opportunity to network whilst hearing about some of the more generic issues and what various secular agencies are doing. The Forum will take place on: Date: Thursday 4th September 2014 Venue will be the Audrey Emerton Building Lecture Hall on the Eastern Road opposite the main site of the Royal Sussex County Hospital Programme: 09.30 for coffee 10.00 welcome and presentations 12.00 market place and lunch 13.00 finish I very much hope you can be with us. Please could you reply to myself and Cassandra letting us know how many people would be coming with you. Do let me know if you have any questions or queries. Best regards Peter.
