I think that's a problem with the 'recommended' way to diff source tarballs, we may need to update the Wiki page to better reflect the Haiku case. I thought it was a problem with one of Ingo's ports, sorry.
I'm trying to get each one to build as a native haiku build, rather than trying --build=i586-beos. That way if/when the beport program is working it will be able to follow the bep file script and just work (in theory?).
Theoretically we could tell the BepFile to specify that argument to configure but long-term you're right of course to correctly port it. I just was in a hurry and didn't see the point to port libiconv if Haiku is supposed to have iconv support, rendering libiconv redundant.
I'll watch my PortLog updates and leave prior work in place, perhaps striking out parts that are no longer needed?
Feel free to, that would be fine with me. We should just somehow leave recognizable who wrote what in case there are questions.
