Subject: [bcl] Merry X'Mas to all BCLers

Dear All BCLers,

May I merry Christmas to you!

As a two-month-old open lab, we made a lot of progress since I
established and invited your join in the late of October. Hope we
could keep such effort in the coming 2014.

BTW, during the last weeks, our updates are as follows.

1 We have added several working papers. Our interview report with our
honorable director Prof Mike Batty (CASA, UCL) appears in this channel
as a working paper. In the short future, we would replace it with a
better-organized review document on applied urban modeling based on
the review, and at that time we would move the interview report to
somewhere else in BCL.

2 We have released several datasets, including the China impervious
area and the Interpreted urban land of China in 2008. I found we have
made some forward to the country level data and study in the last
weeks. Actually several members of BCL are working on a national scale
urban expansion model and mapping city boundaries of all Chinese
cities. Hope it would come out in three months or less.

3 Create a new sub-channel under Working Paper, "Slices", and now we
have two slice files for open reading.I am to add more via soliciting
from members as well as my previous slices.

Cheers, enjoy the holidays.
