Yesterday, I left work early to get a few things done at home, and as usual,
ended up birding more than working. I had a new yard bird yesterday, when I
heard a Louisiana Waterthrush sing a dozen or so times from the riverbank
behind the house. I also saw to Common Ravens flyover, and watched one of the
nesting Common Grackles chase a Red-tailed Hawk across the sky. This morning,
when I arrived at work, I saw what looked to be a shorebird in the middle of
the parking lot. When I got closer, I could see the constant tail-bobbing of a
Spotted Sandpiper. We also have several nesting pairs of Barn Swallows here at
work and a couple of the more enterprising birds have undertaken nest building
inside of our warehouse. Not sure how this is going to work out for them on
the weekends when the doors are down? Looks like tomorrow may be a washout for
birding, but Sunday is looking nice. If anyone is interested in getting out,
let me know?
