Ed and I had a hard time leaving our yard today on our way to Beaver Knob for a morning of birding. A feeder flock here at our house at Weller Yard included the following warblers: Yellow-rumped Yellow-throated Cape May Bay-breasted Magnolia Pine Palm Tennessee We also found other birds in our yard: Carolina Wren Carolina Chickadee Tufted Titmouse Chimney Swift Pileated Woodpecker Kingfisher Crow Bluebird Scarlet Tanager White-eyed Vireo Phoebe Great Blue Heron When we finally made it to Beaver Knob, there was so much fog we could only see about 50 feet in front of us, but the birds did not seem to mind. We were met by hundreds of Palm Warblers; yes, I said HUNDREDS. We saw several of the same warbler species we had already seen in our yard, as well as the following warblers: Black-throated Blue Black-throated Green Chestnut-sided Blackburnian Common Yellowthroat And we also added these species at Beaver Knob: Blue Jay Mourning Dove Killdeer Flicker Cardinal Brown Thrasher Catbird Downy Woodpecker Wild Turkey Meadowlark Turkey Vulture Song Sparrow Chipping Sparrow Enjoy the fall, Michelle Talbott
