Nice list. I did a little birding yesterday but with few surprises. I did
watch an Osprey make a few failed attempts at breakfast and listened to a
blue headed vireo singing.

Daryl,
I'm in Cave Creek Arizona for a wedding(Phoenix). Unfortunately, Not really
birding, here with my wife and sister in law. I did see a kestrel, common
raven and a couple of cactus wrens. Hoping for more.

was an American Kestrel and then after thirty minutes of searching I managed
to ID a couple of Vespers Sparrows feeding beside a gravel road and later
found more. I also saw a few immature White-crowned, White-throated and
Field Sparrows. Oddly, I didn't see any adult White-crowns today. Other
notables were Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks. The Red-shouldered was
being mobbed by a huge flock of 50+ American Crows. The biggest surprise of
the day was when I flushed a Wilson's Snipe while walking one of the dirt
roads at Southern Gap. Finally, I had a high soaring and calling Common
Raven just before leaving. Later, while getting out of the car at home, I
again heard the low croaking call of a Raven and searched the sky to find
two flying overhead. A new yard bird!
