Great pics, as always. I wonder how many of those cached seeds are forgotten also. I did witness a White-br Nuthatch retrieving seeds once. We don't have either of these species this morning but yesterday we had several Rusty Blackbirds, 2 Purple Finch & a few Pine Siskins. It may have been the change in the weather with a few fine snow flurries blowing around that brought it on. This Red-breasted Nuthatch when not on the suet feeder made trip after trip to the sunflower seed feeder. It would take the seeds and cache them in the bark of nearby trees. I wonder if birds and animals later remember where they hide food. I looked out of the kitchen window to see this Cooper's Hawk sitting on the ground just a few feet from the window. I had to photograph it through the glass since opening the window would have scared it away. It had probably tried for a bird at the feeder and missed. It sat for a few moments before taking to the air. Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
