I usually try to keep up with our club events so that I can alert everyone
when one is approaching, but our first birding outing of the year, the trip
to the Weir Dam at Oceola Island scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 12
sneaked up on me. Thanks to Clancey Deel for bringing it to my attention
today.
I have not heard from anyone who plans to go, so it may have sneaked up on
others as well. Due to the bad weather arriving tonight and tomorrow it may
actually be a good day for finding waterfowl that have dropped down to rest
and feed during the storm. In any case, Lynda and I were not going to be
able to go. If anyone does decide to go, let the rest of us know what
species you found.
